International Software Services (ISS) was founded in 1988 by Thomas H. Kava. Prior to 1988 Tom spent his time as District Manager of Scan-Optic, Inc. and was responsible for installing state-of-the-art high-speed scanning systems nationwide. Tom was personally involved in creating the Credit-Card Specialist that was installed in over 23 major banks. Tom was also involved in Federal’s Express First Image Capture system, L.L.Bean’s First Alpha/Numeric Handprint recognition, the IRS hand written 1040EZ form. Scan-Optics first multi-font system installed at the State of Wisconsin. Tom also developed mark read logic that could determine marks from erased marks, a balance routine that increased balancing time by 10%, and parameter driven software that cut installation time by 50% and increased throughput by 15%.
Since 1988 ISS is credited for developing and installing the first NCR 7780 running under Windows NT. ISS created payment capture software that processed utility bills and insurance bills, traffic and parking ticket payments and tax collection payments. ISS also developed the SMART system that process Direct Mail documents for hundreds of magazines labels.Our Payment software and Direct Mail software scanned over 100,000 documents a day per scanner; some customers had 6 scanners processing over 600,000 documents a day. ISS was introduced to the collection world when it developed a image payment system for Wofpuff & Abramson, L.L.P . As ISS added more and more Credit Card Users, It was introduced to CLS. As we sat down with CLS users we had seen many manual steps that could be eliminated. ISS created an Auto Skip Trace routine that eliminated the need of manually sending and retrieving files for scrubs and eliminated the manual updating of CLS. ISS also created a Military Scrub that eliminated the keying of names and SSN into the Department of Defense (DOD) site. | |
